All happy football clubs are alike; each unhappy football club is unhappy in its own way.
Celtic is not a happy football club right now.
Last night, the unhappiness was increased when someone in authority decided to put out a statement about the recent transfer window shitshow.
If you really must, you can read it here.
Whoever is in charge of comms should sack the algorithm that came up with this pish.
A pal of mine in Scotland, no stranger to the Parkhead press area and a definite Celtic supporter, sent me this message on reading it:
“Word salad statement. Could be written by AI. Celtic’s comms belong to another era. Out of date and lazy, which sums up their executive.”
Ratners FC appears to be involved in a mass psychological experiment aimed at alienating their customer base.
Yogi Jnr was quick out of the blocks in suggesting that the statement owes more to AI than anything genuinely human.
Here is his attempt at proving his speculation.

Ouch!
Chris Sutton also weighed in, and he didn’t miss.

Last Wednesday, I reached out to a Celtic employee with whom I’m regularly in touch.
He always replies, and there’s a mutual respect that what starts as a private communication stays that way.
I won’t identify him or where he works in the organisation, so it’s ok to share the following:
“Just for context.
I’ve been a Celtic supporter since 8-year-old me was taken to my first game in 1966.
I’ve NEVER known alienation and anger like this towards the people in charge of our club.
If they’re not taking that on board, then the future isn’t bright.”
Of course, that was before the statement last night.
For the avoidance of doubt, this isn’t a 1994 scenario.
Celtic are not facing extinction this time, merely stagnation.
The old board that the Bunnet ousted lacked the cash and access to borrowing needed to keep the show on the road and rebuild a stadium fit for the Taylor Report.
Conversely, the Grey Brigade is sitting on a pile of cash.
They are, essentially, beneficiaries of Fergus McCann’s vision and business acumen.
The 60,000-seater stadium is the basis for the financial advantage over the other side of the city.

That, from EBTs to Craig Whyte, has characterised this century so far.
This league campaign could yet implode in a way not seen since the Covid season.
If that comes to pass, it would be worthy of a novel by Tolstoy.

Unfortunately, not one member of the board is fit for purpose – bean counters one and all!
From Desmond down they should be asked if their primary motivation is to take Celtic to the next level on the park. If not, then leave and don’t come back!
Success on the field will bring success off it.
Too many on the board patting themselves on the back and awarding themselves huge bonuses for having money in the bank.
We are a football club – they seem to have forgotten that – all of them.
Statements from our CSA’s are not mentioning the word Accountability to this AI aided Board of Misdirectors ? Where is there going to be Accountability?
It’s straightforward for the Celtic board…
Do the board think Brendan should continue in the role? Yes, back him, no, sack him.
Do the board think Brendan is going to leave ? offer a 3 year contract – he signs you back him, he does not you sack him.
Either they want Brendan or they don’t – Celtic have looked poor against Rangers for at least 5 games ( yes, they got some results, but they played poorly ) . The midfield is far too weak – we need more strength.
Rangers have backed their manager, Celtic have not – do I think Brendan should continue as manager – probably not, his teams are on the whole, boring and he wasted a lot of money on poor players, but either way this Celtic team is by far, not good enough.
Been seeing a few comments going around with a mention of the similarities between this seasons shenanigans and the Covid seasons debacle. Now, I’m not saying things are as bad but, there are similar vibes regarding the utter contempt this board appears to have for the supporters.
Saturday nights statement is awful. It does nothing to lift the mood. As Yogi jnr pointed out, it could easily have been put together by artificial intelligence, because it certainly wasn’t written by a real living person of average intelligence.
So out of touch it beggars belief, and absolutely nothing in it to give supporters a glimmer of hope that their views are being taken seriously. Our main rivals are as weak as I have known them to be in a long time.
The current board at Celtic seem to be determined to bring us down to their level.
Unbelievable 😡
Even to the most untrained of eyes it’s obvious that this summer has been a disaster for the board.
The question is was it incompetence or sabotage?
If it’s the former then some “training issues” need to be identified and dealt with. If it’s the latter then the theory that “better than rangers is good enough” must be true, at which point you can’t blame Brendan when he leaves for Nottingham (or wherever he ends up).
If this is the direction that the board are taking us in then the paying customers need to vote with their money and hit them squarely in the pocket. That’s the only language the board will understand.
Our board are Hedy Lamarr in Kendrick Lamar world.
And Sat night release? They’re craven as well as out of touch.
And no matter who says what & when, they don’t have the best interests of the club as their prime driver, otherwise they’d stop the self-sabotage.
The Aloofinati.
Hedy Lamarr was a genius.
One of the grey brigade or their lackeys went to the trashloids to further undermine Brendan, saying he’s trying to work his exit. How long before these self-congratulatory dinosaurs have the fanbase doing the same? What was it the big man said about football without fans again?
Why cant Celtic send the money in bank for players?. Seems perverse UEFA penalise a club in profit, whereas a club in deficit with slightly higher revenues than Celtic can spend more? Not excusing the Board, just seems unfair
There is no reason to restrict the spending.
It’s a three year average and, since we turn a profit in “player trading” pretty much every year, we could overspend easily and not come near breaking the threshold.
It’s just smoke and mirrors stuff.
Its not true Sarah. We can spend up to 70% of football income. We didn’t hit 50% last season and again this season. In fact, as usual, we made a profit. They treat us as if we’re dumb!
And of course all this does is create yet more column inches / Twitter claptrap for media lackies that love to dwell on other peoples misery and misfortune.
That’s both sides of the Pro Celtic – Anti Celtic divide.
