Last August in Glasgow, a hate crime was committed.
The hatred was clearly aimed at the city’s multi-generational Irish community, and at the time I wrote this piece.
Today Anthony Joseph at Sky Sports reported on the case of Bradley Craig (20), who admitted singing the Famine Song on the day in question.

You can read his brief report here.
Nine were arrested, one admitted his guilt, another was found not guilty, and seven cases collapsed.
It is worth remembering that these chaps were part of a group of Sevco fans who were given a police escort.
Moreover, since 2009, it has not been a matter of debate; in Scotland, the Famine Song is racist.
Consequently, the approach of Police Scotland in Glasgow last August in Glasgow is somewhat puzzling.

Dear reader, imagine for a second if Glasgow’s finest were escorting a crowd through the city singing racist chants aimed at any OTHER ethnic group.

It’s absolutely shameful that Police Scotland officers openly escort these sectarian racist morons who associate themselves to Rangers football club .
We had the same issue in George Sq when police stood by and watched the destruction ,sectarian singing and many happily getting photos taken with fans .
In a few weeks many city’s ,towns ,villages will be blighted by the curse of orange walks with many adults indoctrinating their children into the marches of hate
And probably proud to do so
Scotlands Shame indeed
Absolute “token gesture”.
the short answer to the question posed is a resounding “YES”.
That’s the problem Phil to many police Scotland officers support sevco and joined in at George Square and no doubt beg to be on duty during the anti Catholic marches so they can sing along to the tunes and we have a first minister and Scottish Government who could put a stop to anti Irish and Anti Catholic racism but like police Scotland they wont stop these marches or sevco fans breaking the law week in and week out.
