A new way of doing transfer business in Paradise

This will already be a unique transfer window for some younger Hoops fans to get their heads around.

Players brought in early, signed for purely footballing reasons, and on the manager’s say so.

Dear reader, this isn’t how Celtic have typically approached their transfer business.

What usually happened when the omnipotent CEO was in place was for very little to happen until the 11th hour, and then some wheeling and dealing would happen.

Often it looked as if the incumbent in the home dugout was something of a  spectator to the unfolding transfer drama.

Football requirements did become ascendant in the early part of the Rodgers interregnum at Parkhead apropos player acquisitions.

Now, this in 2022:

Three players who are clearly the manager’s choice have been brought in at the earliest possible opportunity.

Of course, this allows them to meet their teammates and become familiarised with their new surroundings.

The Japanese trio ( Hatate, Ideguchi and Maeda)  are all in their mid-twenties and strong candidates to be first-team starters from the get-go.

None of the three could be labelled as “projects”.

This is the most powerful indicator that the Pedro era is definitely over.

His legal factotum now has the gig on a permanent basis.

If he simply actions the wishes of Ange, then Celtic just might be on a new journey.

      • Only a follow follower of a Club which has not only failed to turn a single penny in profit in 10 years but also spunked over £100m on the journey could possibly see opening up a new business opportunity in in Asia AND bringing in quality on the cheap as a negative I suppose 🤷🏻‍♂️

        Numpties then,numpties now,numpties always.

  1. Ange has changed much in a short time, if this method of business is carried through to future windows it could become the norm. Changing that alone has undone what PL did, ie, last gasp last minute stuff.
This practice is so much more efficient and professional, long may it last..

    • Compare and contrast with what’s happening in Govan. Their brightest young star on his way to Everton in order to bring in much needed cash.
Who next, Aribo or Kent to Villa to join up with Stevie G?
Not to worry according to Alex Rae. Any incoming monies will be reinvested in the squad.
      Really?

      • Joseph, that Everton money will keep the lights on for a while. However, they’ll be looking forward to getting spit-roasted by Big MASH and Dave King. [The Abominable Lying King]
