I’m told that there was a free and frank exchange of views last week at the regular conclave of the Sevco High Command.
High on the agenda was the Ashley court case.
Apparently the Conveyancing Consigliere had a cunning plan.
No doubt this shrewd stratagem had originated south of the Limpopo.
What was shared with the Blue Room colleagues was that the upcoming court case should be somehow postponed.
Essentially the entire problem could be kicked down the road by some ruse or other.
I’m afraid at that moment the table had to be slapped!
Another director, one with extensive business experience, felt moved to spell out the issues rather forcefully.
Firstly, he said that if any attempt to further postpone the Ashley court case was successful then that could lead to embarrassing consequents.
He explained that year three of the Hummel deal was a non-starter and Judge Lionel Persey QC had already stated that in his last ruling.
Moreover, he pointed out that it would, even in a best case scenario, take many months to put together a new kit deal and shirt sponsor.
Therefore, according to this RIFC director, the smart move was to make peace with Ashley.
To ram home the point the directors reminded everyone of the facts on the ground:
- The chairman was now a cold-shouldered pariah in UK business.
- The Ashley court case and the imminent bill.
- Loans due to Close Brothers and Laird.
- The overall funding issues.
Just in case there were any doubters in the room he said:
“If we get a bill for ten or fifteen million plus costs who is going to pay it?”
Obviously he was referring to the Ashley litigation arising out of King’s car boot sale with Elite/Hummel.

The director conceded that they now had a good squad and a highly competent management team.
However, he stated that they simply couldn’t afford it going forward.
This transfer window will show if his wise counsel is taken on board.
Now, the news today that Eros Grezda has returned to NK Osijek indicates a player being paid off rather than a bumper transfer fee for the basket of assets.
As he leaves Sevco it is worth savouring this succulent pish one last time…

The RIFC director (I know his identity) last week was fully focussed on the facts when he shot down the Conveyancing Consigliere.
The current state of affairs at Sevco is not sustainable.
However, do not expect to read that verifiable fact in the local media.

Once again our courageous and fearless Board has stood up to the bias of the SFA…by stating that they are ” extremely disappointed” at the Ryan Christie decision.
Well that’s told them off in no uncertain terms…the SFA will now be hiding behind the couch.
Seriously ‘though…
Between Res.12…The John Beaton incident…the lack of ” protest ” at the time when Moreorless should have been red-carded
3 times in the one game….and now this…I now think its time that the broad element of our support should ” demonstrate”, one way or another, against the Board …as it’s clear that they lack the cojones for the fight…or the SFA has them over a barrel with something.
Something really stinks about all these ” situations ” and the Board’s lack of fight is nothing short of disgraceful.
My own form of ” protest ” was to transfer my SB to my Grandson…and I will not go back until the Board has proved to me that they are up for a proper fight.
Come back Fergus…your Club really needs you.
Our blogs are on meltdown tonight after the Christie decision . To late for the bitching and wanting to something about it . I have said it before the only way to get any recognition of this and change stay away from Parkhead hit them in the pocket it’s the only time they get it think of the Whytes . Liewell and Co are playing a blinder just like his counter part at Sevco CHISELING away at the fans good nature . Now we laugh at the Klan or Sevco or even the BENNY’S but really our support are not much better as they buy into PISHERY statements from our club and board . Meanwhile sevco and their fans piss themselves laughing at us as our club and board sit back and do the middle of doughnut about being dragged from pillar to post by the SFA as sevco walk all over us and Scityish football itself . SHAMEFUL.
That’s plenty of that honking bennys patter
That BENNYS chat is god awful, give it a rest of Christ sake msn
What we all want to know is when can we bury the corpse?
Feck that!! Has anybody booked the band for us to dance on their grave to?
It would appear that sevco are in financial peril.
They could still win the league.
I believe that those running sevco would take financial ruin as long as they stop 9 in a row.
If they go bust in the close season after winning the league the sfa will do everything in their power to help them stay in the top division and take a place in the champions league.
It is all about stopping celtic.
At any cost.
As long as King has his shareholding then the cold shoulder contagion will exist , simply stating he has (or will) step down will not encourage anyone to get involved while he lurks in the shadows . He will want a minimum of 20p a share which is approx 12.5m add his outstanding loan (5m ?) and the cost of his departure is unaffordable . Outstanding transfer fees, other loans , Ashley’s settlement and future litigation from Hummel and Elite and it’s enough to make Alistair Johnson run up the white flag. Never mind “who pays Ashley ” who pays King and Laird and Close and the shortfall and the transfer fees and and and . All this has to be achieved while breaking even in the next accounts or they fail the FFP regulations for a European licence.
All the recent squealing is testament to the knowledge that the chickens are now coming home to roost. It’s time to call Tesco and see if they want a site in Ibrox.
Meanwhile, they’re ready to take over at the top of the league while Celtic fans are left to depend on a squad of bottlers to stop them.
Oh dear!
You can be sure also that the millions Ashley is due will probably be reduced to the low thousands.
Apropos the Ashley deal bill.
Judge Persey has already shot that down.
“Many millions of pounds” is a direct quote from the judge.
It is just the quantum now that has to be decided.
“Low thousands” is pishful thinking on your part.
Indeed, if that were true why spend over £1m in legal costs fighting a bill so much smaller?
Phil – to be fair to sevco, they have previous for spending more than they make…
For every fiver that celtic spend, etc… 😉
Love it Phill you tell them. 🙂
Oh dear indeed!! You desperately need to up your meds!!
Judging by your last sentence, it appears that you are in dire need of a repeat prescription for Deludamol… either that, or you e been playing one particular song by China Crisis… Wishful Thinking!!
I’m afraid it’s you who is engaged in wishful thinking.
We’ve been reading all this appropriately described “pishful thinking” for nigh on eight years now and see where they are now, laughing up their bas£arding sleeves at us.
Mike Ashley’s tanks? Mike Ashley’s ar?e is more appropriate. His tanks are stuck in the mud, that’s what happens when they sit on the same spot for years.
It will all be probably settled out of court.
There’s a bigger queue of Celtic fans heading for the convenient lie booth now than sevco’s.
They’re all booking up for Breda
And by the way, the rookie is still in their employ, he was forecast to be gone by last Christmas.
Oh drear is more appropriate.
Sadly, you prefer to be courageously concealed.
However, your comment will be demonstrated to be hilariously inaccurate by upcoming events in a few months.
Therefore, it is probably better that you continue to cower behind a pseudonym.
Dunkirk Spirit and all that…
What about you own “courageously concealed” pseudonyms? Notice the plural.
Dunkirk spirit? Is that what running away to Ireland from the bad Scottish Protestants mean?
Glass houses and all that, Eh?
😜😂
The same squad of bottlers that have won three trebles since Sevco were promoted. The same bottlers that have won 2 out of three games against Sevco with an overall aggregate score of 4-2
The same bottlers that had a day off in a cup final and played the last 30 minutes with 10 men……and still walked away with the cup? Them BOTTLERS?? 😂😂😂😂
Bang on, feckin idiots some people
For your own peace of mind you want to put the past behind you.
This talk of treble trebles is really sad. What happened over the past few weeks is what’s important. That’s long enough to be casting your mind back and a good gauge of what is likely to be happening in the foreseeable future.
The Celtic players are now too TERRIFIED of that mob and also too easily brushed aside and that is no easy thing to overcome.
Celtic have two defenders who are almost two metres in height and can scarcely jump two millimetres. Ponder on that one. 😇😌😵😳😩😡😂💤😜😉😁😇😊😄😎🤓😚😌😗😛😘
Don’t remember Jullien needing to jump when he scored against you in the League Cup Final…
From a very pro Celtic perspective, I tend to agree that harking back to treble trebles does us no good.
Against the Ibrox side, we’ve hit a bit of a rut.
We should not let the cup final victory cloud our judgement of that. Changes are needed, and they are needed now.
The winter break has come at just the right time and I am confident that we’ll be improved, through rest, rehabilitation, reflection and new signings. We will need to be, because I believe that Steven Gerrard’s side will be pushing us for the entire season. (I should add that a financial implosion at Ibrox may change that)
His side has shown some fantastic consistency. We had our best domestic start in 30 years and yet, they were only a “baw hair” behind us. It only taken a little dip in form to have them take the advantage from us. They are proper challengers this season.
The board at Ibrox are spending money that they don’t have in order to stop us getting the ninth title in a row, our board must spend money that we do have to ensure that we get it.
By the way, I think we’ll get another treble. 💚
I think you’re on the money. They are playing like men on a mission and they’re NOT going to fold, barring as you say, a financial meltdown.
Incidentally, this run of form that they are on has NOTHING to do with dodgy refereeing decisions. We’ve had our fair share of them this year.
This is the make or break title. They are “all in” on this one. If they survive this campaign financially, they will have no alternative but to downsize next season or they WILL go breasts North. Win the title this season and the sky’s the limit it won’t finish at ten. It really could be a new world record.
IF we win it THIS YEAR!!
This is the first time in nine years our guys have had to face a challenge. Individually and collectively they NEED to man up and meet it head on.
With this update combined with Johnston’s recent rabble rousing, it sounds like King is being outflanked in the Blue Room…?
However, King is still the largest shareholder – and he will not do doing walking away without a satisfactory payoff, [just like Grezdza!]
A bloodless coup or a civil war at Ibrox?
It could keep things interesting for the Internet Bampots during the Winter Break! 🙂
Lol at them Phil can you imagine the scenario when damages are announced and big Mike takes Morelos as part payment of a 15 million quid settlement with sevco still owing him 10 million quid . I’m sure Ralston Traynors tea boy would put a lovely spin on it but not as much as McGarry would do at the Evening ranger who as you showed above quoting and telling us Grezda would be sold for 20 million a dont know if that’s embassy coupons or ginger bottles . I have just seen that Christie got banned no mention of Morelos with his antics demonstrating slit throats and Kent gun imitations. You could not make it up . To think the Celtic board are sitting back and letting this go by without a murmur. But hey you’ll hear them when their looking for fans to buy tickets for the UEFA 2nd competition at champions league prices as well as shouting out for fans to renew season books. There is something about our board that stinks of King and his CHISELING ways . As the auld saying goes start counting your fingers after you shake hands Liewell and his cronies . KERCHING .
Celtic have issued a statement to say they are “extremely disappointed”.
They then mention “recent treatment of Celtic players and the lack of sanctions being imposed”, “lack of consistency” and “contacting the Scottish FA”.
In other words the same old same old ala the ‘strong worded’ statement re cheating Beaton, which elicited no positive response and simply petered 🙂 out.
I don’t know if this current one comprises fine words but no parsnips are in danger of being buttered.
The Cha…what else can Celtic do here, possibly?
